Terms of Use
<p><strong>Effective Date: August 13, 2026</strong></p>
<h2>1. Agreement to Terms</h2>
<p>These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Zuso ("we," "our," or "us") governing your use of the Zuso mobile application ("App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our <a href="/pages/privacy-policy">Privacy Policy</a>. If you do not agree, do not use the App.</p>
<p>You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you may use the App only with the consent of a parent or guardian.</p>
<h2>2. Your Account</h2>
<p>You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when creating an account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.</p>
<p>You may delete your account at any time in the App's settings. Deleting your account removes your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.</p>
<h2>3. Subscriptions and Payment</h2>
<p>Parts of the App require a paid subscription ("Zuso Premium").</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Billing.</strong> Subscriptions are purchased and billed through Apple's App Store or Google Play. We do not collect or store your payment details.</li>
<li><strong>Auto-renewal.</strong> Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.</li>
<li><strong>Cancellation.</strong> You can cancel anytime through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period.</li>
<li><strong>Free trials.</strong> If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.</li>
<li><strong>Refunds.</strong> Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us.</li>
<li><strong>Changes.</strong> We may change subscription pricing or features with reasonable notice; changes apply from your next renewal.</li>
</ul>
<h2>4. Your Content</h2>
<p>The App lets you create and share content — recipes, photos, grocery lists, meal plans, community posts, and comments ("Your Content").</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Ownership.</strong> You keep ownership of Your Content.</li>
<li><strong>License to us.</strong> By submitting Your Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute it as needed to operate the App — for example, showing your posts to your friends or your shared recipes to your family.</li>
<li><strong>Responsibility.</strong> You are solely responsible for Your Content. Only submit content you have the right to use and share.</li>
<li><strong>Imported recipes.</strong> The App can extract recipes from web pages or text you provide. Imported recipes are stored privately in your account for personal use. You are responsible for ensuring your use of imported content respects the rights of its original creator; do not publicly share content you do not have the right to share.</li>
</ul>
<h2>5. Acceptable Use</h2>
<p>You agree not to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, obscene, deceptive, or that infringes anyone's rights</li>
<li>Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone</li>
<li>Attempt to access other users' accounts or data</li>
<li>Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the App or its services</li>
<li>Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written permission</li>
<li>Upload viruses or malicious code, or attempt to disrupt the App's operation</li>
</ul>
<p>We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.</p>
<h2>6. Our Content</h2>
<p>The App and its content — including curated recipes, videos, chef content, text, graphics, logos, and software — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from our content without permission.</p>
<h2>7. Food Safety and Nutrition Disclaimer</h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>Cooking involves risk.</strong> Recipes, cooking times, and temperatures in the App are provided for general guidance. You are responsible for safe food handling and preparation, including cooking foods to safe temperatures.</li>
<li><strong>Nutrition information is an estimate.</strong> Nutrition values shown in the App are calculated automatically from ingredient databases and automated analysis. They are approximations, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and are provided for informational purposes only.</li>
<li><strong>Not medical advice.</strong> Nothing in the App is medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Consult a qualified professional before making decisions based on nutrition information, especially if you have allergies, intolerances, or medical conditions. Always verify ingredients yourself — user-submitted and imported recipes may contain errors or omissions.</li>
</ul>
<h2>8. Community Features</h2>
<p>Community features let you connect with friends and family and see each other's cooking activity. Content you share through these features is visible to the people you share it with as described in the App. We do not endorse user content and are not responsible for what other users post, but you can report content that violates these Terms.</p>
<h2>9. Termination</h2>
<p>You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the App. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4, 6, 7, 10, and 11) survive.</p>
<h2>10. Disclaimers</h2>
<p>THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT CONTENT (INCLUDING RECIPES AND NUTRITION INFORMATION) IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.</p>
<h2>11. Limitation of Liability</h2>
<p>TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR $50 IF YOU HAVE PAID NOTHING.</p>
<p>Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.</p>
<h2>12. Apple App Store Terms</h2>
<p>If you downloaded the App from Apple's App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and is not responsible for any product warranties or for addressing claims relating to the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.</p>
<h2>13. Changes to These Terms</h2>
<p>We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App and updating the effective date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.</p>
<h2>14. Governing Law</h2>
<p>These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the App will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts, unless applicable law requires otherwise.</p>
